chicken farm

THE PEOPLE – The El Maguey Community in El Salvador sits two miles off the main road.  There’s a strong group of women in this community (meet them here).  When we met with her and the team, she had a comprehensive plan (with a budget) for the formation of a chicken farm business.

THE PROJECT – The project has been fully funded and is currently under construction. Guadalupe and her team of leaders are building a chicken farm, on a plot of land near a river.   They’ll start the business with 200 chickens, growing them from chicks.  They’ll sell them to her community (at a reduced price), and also to the communities bordering her own (at full market price).
